 Lee Garcia, 7th grader, won the "middle school's best poem" award at the Austin Poetry Festival April 13th. His poem along with poems by Kayla Baker, Annie McTigue, Elizabeth Roberts and Hali Langenegger were published in a book of poetry available in the Forbes library.

FMS Honor Band students received straight 1's at UIL competition.

    The combined Benold/Forbes/Tippit Symphonic Orchestra participated at the Directors Choice Music Festival at Arlington Six Flags. The orchestra received 3 straight superior ratings from the judges and at the evenings awards ceremony at the Six Flags auditorium, the orchestra was also awarded two additional trophies for "Best in Class" and "Best "Overall."
