Recycle: Trash to Cash is a
program that Forbes has been involved in to promote environmental awareness and
raise money too. "Trash to Cash" provides an opportunity for individuals and
businesses in our community to recycle used laser and inkjet printer cartridges.
In addition, used cell phones, PDAs, pagers, and eyeglasses are now being
accepted. Parents, please send these used items from home or work to school with
your children, or drop them off at the Forbes bubble to be placed in our
recycling box. This is a great opportunity to clean out some clutter and help
Forbes at the same time.
For a business to participate in this program, all that is required is a phone
call or fax providing the business name, address, phone & fax numbers, and a
contact person. To support our recycling program, please call Nancy Homeyer at
512-863-8313 or fax to 512-864-3847.
Recycle2:
Forbes is teaming up
with ABITI Consolidated to begin a recycling program at our school. We get $2
(to benefit the Science Dept.) for every ton of recycled paper. The recycling
container for our school located at the back of the school near the trash
dumpster. The following items can be placed in the recycling bin: magazines,
shopping catalogs, newspaper, office and school papers, junk mail, phone books,
and file folders. Items can be placed directly into the bin, or they may be
given to your child’s science teacher.
