Education & Teaching Background:
Frequently Asked Questions: What is your favorite reality TV show? "The Amazing Race." What is your favorite TV sit-com? "Seinfeld. I also enjoy The Office." What is your favorite TV drama? "I really don't watch that much TV." What is your favorite movie comedy? "There are two, actually, that I like. I enjoyed Meet the Parents. There's Something About Mary is also a favorite. What is your favorite war movie? "Easily my favorite is Kelly's Heroes. While technically a miniseries and not a movie, Band of Brothers is another favorite." What is your favorite classic movie? "I guess it would be considered a classic by today's standards, so I'll have to say It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World ranks above all others in my opinion. There were so many accomplished entertainers involved in the film, it was like a 'Who's Who' of Hollywood in the 1960's." What is your favorite western movie? "Tombstone. Even though I cannot stand Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer's amazing performance as Doc Holliday more than makes up for it." What book have you read lately that you can recommend? "Undaunted Courage by Stephen Ambrose. It is the story of Lewis and Clark's journey of discovery." What is your most memorable experience as a teacher? "I would have to say--without a doubt--September 11, 2001. My class and I watched those horrible events unfold on live television. That was the ultimate teachable moment. My students from that class and I have a special bond that can only come from sharing such an experience." If you could visit anywhere in the world today, where would you go? "New Zealand and Australia. They have unique plants and animals, interesting geography, and it is summer right now." If you were a breakfast cereal, which one would you be? "Cheerios. They're so versatile." If you could invite three famous people over for dinner, who would you invite and why? Jesus Christ, because I'd like to experience his grace; Ronald Reagan, because I admire his vision for America; and Thomas Jefferson, because I would love hearing his observations on the direction of our country. |
