What is Aids?
Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome; a condition in which an acquired deficiency of certain leukocytes, esp. T cells, results in a variety of infections, some forms of cancer, and a variety of infections of the nervous system: caused by an HIV virus which infects T cells and is transmitted via body fluids, esp. sexual secretions and blood.
What makes Aids important to Africa?

It is a fairly new threat; a deadly virus caused by HIV.
Why is Aids a problem in Africa?

Africa is trying to stop it but it spreads like "wildfire".
What is the global reaction to Aids?

They show pity and want to help stop this killing disease. Funds have been arranged to collect money to find a cure.

I could write to the governor to consider this issue and take a larger step to try to find a cure.
