About the author:

Ann Brashares grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland with 3 brothers. She attended a Quaker school in the D.C. area. She studied philosophy at Barnard college. Left school and became an editor which eventually led to becoming a writer. She now lives in New York with her husband and her three children.
