Classroom Procedures:
Entering the classroom:
Students should never enter
or exit the classroom through the stage doors.
When a student first enters
the classroom they need to grab their folders
and answer the warm-up.
Warm-ups should take students no more than
five minutes after the bell
has rung to complete.
Absences:
When an absent student returns: That
student must check with Mrs. Smith to
find out how to make –up those days. The
student will have as many days as
they are absent to make-up that work.
They must also put absent, on their warm-ups
for the days that they were gone.
Heading your paper:
Students should head their papers as
follows:
Ayden Smith
Theater Tech
9th
9-25-08
Moving
around the room:
Students should stay seated unless the
teacher states otherwise.
If you are having a hard time sitting on
the floor, you may bring a
small nap map to sit on. Make sure to put
your name on the mat. (
Most of the time we do not sit for long.)
Hall
passes/ visiting the restroom
I have one hall pass to give out during the
class period. I will allow
one student to go out of class to the
restroom at a time. However, if a
student is found walking the halls, then
that student’s parents will be informed.
That student’s hall passes in my class
might be limited to emergencies only.
Note: If a student comes up to me before
the bell rings and asks to go to the
restroom, then I will allow that student up
to 3 minutes after the bell to do their
business and get back to class. All
students that do this will be responsible for
taking off their shoes, and completing
their warm-up before the first five minutes of class.
Personal emergencies:
If as student has a personal emergency and
needs to go to the restroom, then
he or she needs to inform the teacher of
that emergency and head quickly to
the restroom. Ladies with emergency
problems should just inform the teacher
that it is a minor emergency and enough
will be said. However, if a student is
constantly abusing this emergency plan,
then their parents will be informed and
a plan will be met to better meet that
student’s needs.
Using props, costumes and
theatrical furniture/ scenery:

Students should not touch props, costumes,
scenery, or theatrical furniture
without permission. (These items might
break or rip. IF a student does touch
and break these items then , that student
must either pay to replace that item or
come in before or after school to fix the
broken item.) When the students are
given the permission to use items from the
prop closet, then they are expected
to put back those items in an orderly
fashion.
If you finish early:
If a student finishes their project early,
then they are expected to help
others on their projects. If no one wishes
to have help, then that person has
permission to either, finish homework from
other classes, see if Mrs. Smith needs
any help for the up-coming production, or
read a play. During this time the
student may not go around distracting other
students from their projects.
Late Work
If a student is late in
turning in a project or memorizing a scene, that student can
perform or turn their
project in on the next day for 10 points off. After 2 days it will
be 20 points off. Then, on
the third day it will be a zero.

Mrs.
Smith’s
RewardsSticker Reward
System
Large sticker = 5 small stickers
Group
Rewards: At the end of each week students will count their
stickers. If the class is able to collect 50 stickers by the end of the
week, they will receive 30 minutes of improvisational games that
Friday. If the class is able to collect 100 stickers by the end of the
week, then that class gets to play improvisational games all day that
Friday.
Individual Rewards: The
student with the most stickers in the class will be the class Stage
Manger the following week. The Stage Manger will not have to do
warm-ups for that entire week. However, they will also be responsible
for making sure that the class has picked up all their trash and that
the journals are put back into the class cabinet.
Individual Rewards: If a student is able to achieve 10 or more
stickers during the week, that student may pick a special privilege
which could include, bringing a snack to class one day, bring a drink to
class, one free tardy (This can not be any more than 3 minutes.) or
sitting out of warm-ups one day.
I have read the expectations
of this class.
