Welcome to Spring
Tennis! Attached you will find a schedule of all extended
practices, matches and tournaments, along with some guidelines,
procedures and Coach V law.
Extended
Practices are a must. We are only having one per week. So
besides the few minutes we get in class – I need every player to
attend these practices. One excused absence will be allowed.
More than one excused or any unexcused absences would result in
sitting out a match. Excused would be the same reasons for
missing school and coach must be notified by note, email or
voice mail.
Please post the
schedule where you (your child) will remember what they have to
do, where they have to be, when they need to be there and about
what time they need picked up. Please meet the bus as close to
arrival time as possible. Students may call home on the way
back to let you know our ETA. I’ve had to wait for an hour to
have some students picked up. As much as I like them, I like to
go home, too.
7th
grade should come ready (dressed) to practice on their extended
practice day. I can’t stop everyone to let a late arrival go to
the locker room to dress. A coach must be present in the locker
rooms when students are present (GISD).
8th
grade will leave their extended practice from the courts. No
one will be allowed back into the school or locker room to
retrieve personal belongs.
Uniforms must be
worn to matches. At the minimum, the practice t-shirt and short
should be worn. Players not in Forbes tennis clothing will NOT
play that day.
Parents, please
sign below along with your student as an acknowledgement of
receiving this information. Students not returning this form
will not play a match until it is done.
