Congratulations Honors Band 2008-2009

It is our great pleasure to announce that the Forbes Middle School Honors Band  has been invited to play at the

63rd annual Midwest Clinic in Chicago!

 

Upcoming Events

Instrument usage Fee is due ASAP.  If your child uses a GISD owned instrument (including percussion) the fee is $60/year.  Please make checks payable to GPAA-band

General Goals and Objectives for band:

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to make musical value (as they pertain to a musical setting) judgments through critical listening. The student will recognize quality of sound, pitch, style, tempo, rhythm, blend, balance , phrasing, dynamics, and articulation.

  • Music theory

  • Instrumental technique

  • Express oneself in every performance experience (solo or ensemble)
