Extra Credit Opportunities:
- Students may receive extra credit by
turning in a program of concerts, or fine arts events that they attend.
- Parents need to sign the program, or turn
in a signed letter with the program, if they wish that the program be
returned.

Assignments:
Pass off Charts
Practice Report-
- Each member of the Honor Band will attend a sectional and a full rehearsal
each week.
- Each member will also be turning in weekly practice reports. A parent signature is required every week.
- Students will also be recording some assignments for test grades.
Concerts:
- Attendance is required for all members. This is a competing ensemble
and as such we expect all members to attend.
- Half time Showcase- September 18th at the GISD Football field- Dress is
band shirt and denim jeans.
- FMS football games-September 29th: from 4-7:30pm
FMS
field Dress is band t-shirt and shorts. Parents please come
out and listen to the pep band! October 7th.
- Varsity Football game- Friday, October 9th- (optional, but
strongly suggested!) Dress is
band t-shirt, shorts or jeans.
- Veteran's Day- Tuesday, Nov. 11th We will recognize the
veterans with patriotic music and also play a group performance with the
orchestra and choir. Dress is formal uniform. Students need to have
black pants, black socks and black shoes by this date.
- Veteran's Day Concert - November 12th - 7pm in the Klett PAC- We
will recognize the veterans with patriotic music and also play a group
performance with the orchestra and choir. Dress is formal uniform.
- Capitol Rotunda Performance-December 1st- noon
- Holiday Concert- 6:30pm PAC Dec. 8th
- Midwest Sendoff Concert- PAC- Monday, December 14 -7pm
- Pre-UIL Concert- March 9th- This is to prepare for our UIL competition.
We will also practice our sight reading portion. This is very
interesting to watch. Dress is formal band uniform. Time
TBA!
- UIL- March 31st or April 1st- This will be during the school day. Please
make sure your student is rested and ready to play well! Parents are
encouraged to attend.
- Solo and Ensemble- May 15th at Forbes MS 8-2pm We will need
many parent volunteers.
- Spring Concert- May 18th -6pm at Eastview-
- Spring Trip to Schlitterbahn - May 22nd
