Genocide in Darfur

What does genocide mean? What is the definition?

From the Greek genos meaning race.
Latin suffix cidium meaning killing
Genocide means the deliberate systematic extermination of a national, racial, political, or cultural group.
Destruction of a culture and its people through physical extermination.
Genocide is the mass killing of a group of people.

Why is Genocide important in Africa?

Since 2003the region has been scene of fighting with government forces and their allied Arab militias.
(the janjaweed) batting non-Arab rebels linked to an opposition party.
An estimated 50,000 persons have died in the fighting.
Another 150,000 have died from diseases, hunger, and other causes.
The Government and janjaweed have been accused by some of genocide.
Some 2 million people have been made refuges, and attempts to establish a crease-fire have produce only temporary results.

Why is Genocide a problem or current issue in Africa?

Because about 200,000 are already dead over the last 2 years.
There is not much that we can even do to help.
It destroys entire groups of people and there families.
Most of the people that are getting killed are killed by people that want to control the government.
Most of the people that are getting killed are kids they didn't do anything they just got in the way.

How does genocide affect the people in Africa?

Thousands of people are scared.
They are all loosing friends and family.
Thousands are dyeing for no reason.
Everyday more and more people are dyeing.
They don't have that many people in there city/town anymore.
Soon there wont be anyone there and the people that are killing will control/take over they state
They cant stop it.

What does the rest of the world (not Africans) think about Genocide?

What can we do to fix the problem of genocide?

The United nation is an organization of nations that work for world peace.
They also have a security of humanity.
Christian Children's Funds provides a lot more than nutritious foods.
They also give education and medical care.
This fund gives allot more than all that it also gives money and a home to people in need.

What is my personal opinion and reaction to genocide?

My opinion is I know and think it is not right to kill people for no apparent reason.
Just because of their race or religion.
They also kill people for other things.
How would you and I feel if we were the ones getting killed.
It doesn't matter about or race or religion.
