What is my research topic? What are some keywords?

• My research topic is deforestation.
•  Some keywords that I used to help me research were deforestation and Africa.

What does deforestation mean? What is the definition or description of deforestation?

• Deforestation means to cut down trees for wood.
• They would use wood to make fires to cook there food and to make houses.
• Also some people used trees for medicine.
• Some trees have something in it that is used for medicine for people to get better.
• The definition of deforestation is the removal of trees from an area.

Why is deforestation important in Africa?

• Deforestation is important in Africa because with out it there wouldn't be any wood for houses.
• It also provides medicine for some of the people that are sick.
• Deforestation is also good for firewood for cooking and keeping warm.
•  And if they cut down trees from an area monkeys won't bother them.
•  Also deforestation is good because it provides space to build there houses.

Why is deforestation a problem or current issue in Africa?

• Deforestation is a problem because when they cut down trees they are cutting down homes for animals.
• Deforestation is a problem because it is killing animals that live in the  trees.
• Deforestation is a problem because the animals they are killing is making them extinct.
• Animals that hide in the forest lose there protection, and they get killed by poachers.
• When they cut down the trees, the plants that can help them get lost.

How does deforestation affect the people who live in Africa?

• If they cut down trees that have medicine to help them, and if they use it all they will run out.
• If they cut down animals protection the animals will leave and they will not have meat to eat.
• Lose the wood to build there houses.
• They will lose the firewood.
• There is more desert and less trees.

What does the rest of the world (not Africans) think about deforestation? What is the global reaction?

• Different people have different reactions to deforestation. 
• There are some people that protest against deforestation.
• And there are some people that don't care.
• And there are some that encourage it.

• And there are some people that have other things to worry about.

What can be done to help the problem of deforestation? What is being done to correct deforestation?

• To help the problem they could not cut down as many as they are now.
• What we can do to help deforestation depends on the country or state it is. 

• In some countries they need to make more laws about cutting down trees.

• What’s being done to help it is that we have recycling to reuse so we don’t cut down as much.

• Recycling helps pollution to.

What is my personal opinion of deforestation? How do I react to deforestation?

• I don’t want to say that I don’t care because that’s pushing it.

• My personal opinion about deforestation is that I really have not thought much about it.

• I think we concentrate on feeding starving people and helping sick people get medicine, then worrying about how many trees we are cutting down.

• I think that trees are an important part of the world.Trees provide us with oxygen and clean air and it keeps the soil from eroding.

•  I think we should help other countries understand how to take care of there environment.
