• My research topic is Genocide in Rwanda.

What does Genocide in Rwanda mean? What is the definition or description of Genocide in Rwanda?

• Genocide means the systematic killing of, or a program of action intended to destroy, a whole national or ethnic group.
• Rwanda means country in EC Africa, east of Democratic Republic of the Congo.
• Genocide I think is just killing a whole nation.
• Rwanda I think is just a country in EC Africa.
• Genocide in Rwanda was a killing of religions in EC Africa.

Why is Genocide in Rwanda important in Africa?

• Genocide in committed by organized groups, usually governments, rather than by individuals.
• There have been persecution and atrocities that can be described as cases of genocide.
• The Russian pogroms (persecutions of the Jews) during the late 1800's and early 1900's were an example of genocide.
• During WWII (1939-1345), the Germans practiced genocide.
• They killed about 6 million European Jews.

Why is Genocide in Rwanda a problem or issue in Africa?

• A confessed killer, Nzamwita is one 8,000 genocide suspects released in February.
• Rwanda's overcrowded prisons as part of a national reconciliation effort after the 1994 bloodletting that dammed a million lives.
• The 51-year old Hutu admitted being part of a group that killed a Tutsi man and stole his cows.
• Nzamwita won his freedom after asking the victim's brother for forgiveness.
• Certain people went around killing people like the KKK.

How does Genocide in Rwanda affect the people who live in Africa?

• The party of the Hutu Emancipation movement won on overwhelming victory so their county is unsupervised.
• Even ordinary citizens were called on to kill their neighbors by local officials and Government-sponsored radios.
• Walking around the Capital of Kigali, it is possible, at least for a moment, to forget that only 13 years ago, this tidy city was littered with corpses form one of the most brutal genocides the world has seen.
• It makes their county's history bad.
• Many people moved away because of the violence.

What does the rest of the word (NOT AFRICANS) think about Genocide in Rwanda? What is the global reaction to Genocide in Rwanda?

• They think it was a very bad thing that happened in our world.
• Winston Churchill called it "a crime that has no name".
• Genocide in Rwanda was just as bad as the Holocaust.
• Not very many people liked Paul Kagame, who was the president.
• Their Prime Minister, Bernard Makuza was responsible for most of the stuff that went on.

What can be done to help the problem of Genocide in Rwanda? What is being done to correct Genocide in Rwanda?

• What helped it to be correct was cutting of the radio's and local TV.
• Also getting new government helped.
• Rwanda held ceremonies to honor the 800,000 people butchered in 1994.
• Ten years after the Genocide in Rwanda had much to do with reconcile its divided people.
• While Rwanda still has a long way to go, its broad-based government is winning praise from foreign governments and aid groups alike for its good intentions and surprising lack of corruption.

What is my personal opinion of Genocide in Rwanda? How do I react and feel about Genocide in Rwanda?

• It is a bad thing and it would never happen.
• I am glad that it doesn't happen in North America.
• I feel bad for the people who have had this happen to them.
• I think it is an honor for them to bury everyone who get killed.
• I feel bad for the people who got killed for no reason.
