Why is Kofi Annan important to Africa?

Kofi Annan is not only important to Africa he is ( was ) important to the world.
First of all he worked diligently to help his country, Ghana, gain independence.
Second of all he helps people all over the world with disputes as the 7th secretary general of the U.N. ( United Nations).
Kofi Annan helps create peace in Africa and form refugee camps.
Even when disputes are settled he's still busy making plans.

What information do you have on Kofi Annan?

What problem did this person create or solve in Africa?

Kofi Annan solved A LOT of problems in his life.
The first problem he worked on was Ghana's independence.
He was very successful and Ghana was one of the first countries to gain indepence.
Kofi was not always successful.
In Iraq he tried to fix a problem and ended up getting framed.

How does this person affect the people who live in Africa?

He settles lots of conflicts every where including Africa.
He was an international leader and helped Ghana , his home country, earn its independence.
When he grew up in Ghana and the war was going on he knew he wanted to help.
So he helps lots of people with conflicts everywhere.
He's failed sometimes but he mostly does a fair job.

What does the rest of the world think about Kofi Annan?

They respect him because he is the General of the U.N. and has power.
He tries to settle conflicts fairly.
He generally was a good Conesus builder-Conesus means majority of opinions-.
In the beginning Kofi was criticized because he was black but the global reaction changed they saw hes people skills .
Though there was some confusion with the Oil For Food scandal he was cleared and held his position.
At the end he was well respected.

How did Kofi Annan become Secretary General of the U.N.?

First Kofi worked for the U.N. in 1962 as a W.H.O.
Though, he had a 'side job' he was very dedicated and soon became promoted in W.H.O. as a body person.
Then promoted as secretary general in the U.N.
While in this job he acquired many skills in the fields of refugees and peace keeping.
He was also a special representative to former Yuag.

What is my personal opinion of Kofi Annan? How do I react and feel about him?
