African Religion Conflicts
Andrew F.
What is my research topic? What are some research keywords?
- My research topic is the religions in Africa and the conflicts between
them.
- Some of the keywords I used for research are Religion, Africa, and
Conflict.
What does religious conflict in Africa mean? What is the definition of
religious conflict in Africa?
- There is the Islamic religion, the Christian religion, the voodoo
religion, and many more specific to there countries.
- Some religions think there way is the only right way and it could be
wrong.
- So some people get in fights over what's best.
- Well in the US there are also still religious conflict, but its not as
bad.
- If there is a way to stop religious conflict it is still unknown.
How is religious conflict in Africa important to Africa?
- Religion holds things together.
- There are so many religions its hard
for some things to stay together.
- Not everything has one religion so will many groups of people the can be
a war like a World War bat only in one country.
- If there was a war it would be horrible and no one would "stand on top."
- I don't think it is important . . . or is it if there wasn't religious
conflict what would Africa fight to fix? ok ok hunger and other stuff like
human rights and slavery.
Why is religious conflict a problem or current issue in Africa?
- In big cities there are large shootouts between Muslims and Christians,
and many people that are in the crossfire get shot and killed.
- The worst was in February of 2000.
- In February of 2000 gangs of about 100 people each ran in to a large
city in the Sahara armed with fully automated weapons.
- The gangs where made-up of Muslims and Christians.
- More than 250 people where killed in the cross fire, and half of each
gang where killed also.
How does religious conflict in Africa affect the people who live there?
- With all the religions and the fire-fights between them.
- Its hard to know what's right and wrong.
- Because there is allot of
wrongness in people kill each other.
- If people kill they are doing wrong so none of the religions are the
correct.
- People get caught in cross fire and more then the amount intended (and
its wrong to intend killing) so people live in fear.
What does the rest of the world (not Africa) think about religious conflict
in Africa? what is the global reaction?
- Most people don't think about it.
- But the leaders of countries all
probably think about it and cant do anything about it.
- They can try but it wont always work we learned that because that's
what's happening in Iraq.
- The thing that can be done would be not to let people help kill each
other if we just get the troops out of Iraq the same thing would happen in
it.
- It would smooth its self out sooner or later.
What can be done to fix the problem of religious conflict in Africa? What is
being done to correct it?
- I don't know what could be done in Iraq we are trying to get the people
who get in fights, and its not working.
- If we do that again it with just be another large war that with take
forever to end like in Iraq.
- Nothing is being done to fix it that I know of.
- But lets just hope that
its not going to be the same as Iraq.
- Nothing can be done to help the problem except its self.
What is my personal opinion on the religious conflict in Africa? How do I
react to it?
- I know that the problems just can't just go away it will take time.
- It can't be easy with so many problems.
- It won't just make everyone
all peaceful if we do one thing to try to fix it.
- My personal thought is
that nothing can change what is happening in Africa.
- Africa is the hardest
country to live in by far.
