Christi M.
What is my research topic? What are some research keywords?
- My research topic is Slave Trade.
- Some keywords I used to help me research were: Slaves, Trading, and
Africa.
What does Slave Trade mean? What is the definition or description of Slave
Trade?
- Slave Trade is the kidnapping and selling of African Americans.
- It can
also be called a Diaspora which is the when they were forced to migrate.
- It
is also the business or process of transporting, and selling of people.
- When
they were trading them, they go from Africa to Europe, then to America.
- On a
dirty ship for up to three months.
Why is slave trade important in Africa?
- It brings horror to them, how could this have gone on such a high
scale for so long.
- This has permanently weakened Africa.
- Which has lead it
to it's colonialism.
- It has also endangered the racism in Africa.
- Then it
lowered it's population, so Africa is still suffering from it's loss.
Why is slave trade a problem or current issue in Africa?
- When everyone thought slavery was over in Africa South of the
Sahara they were very wrong.
- Millions of people of Africa are still being
traded in 2001.
- Africa is loosing a lot of money owed from slaves to Europe.
- Africa doesn't have many town workers during the time of slavery.
- When a slave ship was
turned away, it brought attention to the danger of Africa.
How does slave trade affect the people who live in Africa?
- It has brought an expansion to the amount of people living in Africa.
- People who visit Africa still have the time to see the trading docks.
- Before to long Africa will be in a severe population situation.
- Also if men are taken from family's then how are the women supposed to
take care of there families on there own.
- If people in Africa keep
getting shipped off to another place to work then how will Africa have any
town workers.
What does the rest of the world (not Africa) think of slave trade? What is
the global reaction to slave trade?
- The North Americans made it so it was illegal in North America.
- But in Asia, South America, and Africa still agree with slavery.
- A man named Mr. Yancy wrote letters to the editors, telling them to
abolish slavery all together.
- At the end of Slavery Europe still saw nothing wrong with what they had
done.
What can be done to help the problem or slave trade? What is
being done to correct the slave trade?
- A man named Thomas Clarkson.
- He made it so the sailors have a chance to see what the slaves had to go
thru.
- We could also try to make it a law to abolish everything everywhere.
- Also A law that African Americans do not work without pay and share or
household.
- And all that is being done is a couple states are changing, but not all
of them.
What is my personal opinion of slave trade? How do I react to save trade?
- I think it is very unfair to judge people of there race.
- Just because someone is different on the outside doesn't mean they are
different on the inside.
- If this was all up to me I would abolish it all together.
- It is ok to be different from everybody else.
- That is what makes us all equal.
