Welcome to my Web site!

Hello, my name is Charles Vochatzer.  You may call me - Coach V or Mr V.  My last name is pronounced Vo-chat-zer.  You may never have to say it, but you will need to learn to spell it.

I am from Kansas City, Missouri.  As a child, I lived in Missouri, Texas, Georgia.  My family moved back to Missouri in the middle of my seventh grade year.

I graduated from high school in 1975.  I then went to college at University of Missouri @ Kansas City and Southwest Baptist University.  SBU is where I met my wife.  We graduated in the morning and had our wedding that afternoon (we were away at college and both of our families traveled for graduation).

My vocational calling at that point was into the ministry.  After graduation from college, I attended Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Fort Worth, TX.  My first job, as a minister, was in Monroe, LA as Minister of Education and Youth.  After leaving Louisiana, I served churches in Anderson, SC, Leitchfield, KY, Maplewood, MO and Austin, TX.  Responsibilities included: children and youth ministry, senior adults, church activities/recreation, teaching, training teachers, mission trips, weddings and funerals, music and worship leader, and lots more.

My preparation for teaching began in 2001 when I started taking math classes at ACC.  Actually, everything I've done has prepared me for this career change.  In 2005, I enrolled in the teacher certification program at LeTourneau University, Austin.  My student teaching was done at Pflugerville Middle School, spring 2006.

I have now finished my third year of teaching.  Forbes Middle School was a great place to begin my teaching career.  Two of the many things I have loved to do all my life, tennis and math, happened to be included in the teaching position at Forbes.  What luck!  I'm looking forward to the 2009-10 school year being even better than last.  Every year has proven to be better than the year before - I expect that this year will be no different.  The experience gained from first three years has taught me plenty.  That experience will continue to help my students every year.

I'm looking forward to working with you this year, whether in math or tennis, we're going to have a great time together!

Email me your guess.

From August 2007 until March 2008, we were in the process of building a new house.

After picking Wilshire Homes to be our builder, we built this house.

Lots of math went into the designing, obtaining material, preparation and completion of the building project.
