The GISD grading policy for first grade is below:

E 95-100                                     S- 75-79

S+ 90-94                                      N 70-74

S 80-89                                      U 69-Below

Assessments of each child's progress will be discussed at parent conferences. Please contact your child’s teacher with any questions or concerns about grades. We do not grade every activity that we do. If a paper comes home with a check, stamp, or sticker, no grade was entered for that paper. Papers that have a number grade and letter count as graded papers. We also give some grades for class participation which will not be sent home on a paper. We always try to let the children know ahead of time if the assignment is going to be graded. Progress reports are sent midway through each nine weeks.
