Vicky Silva designed and constructed our reading castle.
Chris Oser built the drawbridge...
and Connie Morris sewed the thrones! We love our Ford Elementary Parent Volunteers!

In 2008-09, our reading theme was "Chill Out with a Book!" Parent volunteers Vicky Silva, B.J. Macmillan, Beth Purcell, Brenda Oser, and others constructed an igloo for our students to crawl into and read. Vicky Silva headed the project. Many thanks to Oak Farms Dairy who donated and delivered over 550 milk jugs for us to use!

"Wild About Reading" was our theme for the 2008-09 school year. Students earn tickets to come to the library and read in the Ford Reading hut for 15 minutes. Many thanks to Mrs. B.J. Macmillan for volunteering to construct our hut!

Treasures Under the Tree
During the holidays, special books are placed under the Christmas tree. Students choose a holiday book that the teacher reads to the class. Special holiday boxes are used to wrap the books before they are taken to the classroom, making it a fun surprise reading!
