2007-2008 is a great year to be a third grader at Ford Elementary here in
Georgetown! In addition to fun science experiments, interesting novel
units and home projects, the students will also learn their multiplication facts
and to write in cursive this year. Below you'll find some information
about me. Be sure to check back after the school year begins for updated
Spellings lists and to read the students' writing.
Education & Teaching Background:
 | Education: I graduated from Sam Houston State University in Dec.1998 with
a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, with a specialization in
English and an extension in Early Childhood. I thoroughly enjoyed my
time at Sam and participated in student government while there. It was
an incredible experience! |
 | After college I wanted to try something besides education, so I was an
office manager for a local orthodontist. Organizing the office and
meeting the patients was great but not all that rewarding. I was
offered a second grade teaching position six months later and couldn't pass it
up. Teaching is a passion for me, and I'm so excited to be doing
something I love so much! |
 | I have taught for eight years. Five of those years I taught second
grade, and the last three have been in third grade. This will be my
second year at Ford. |
 | In my free time I enjoy a variety of activities! I love to cuddle up
with a good book, cross-stitch and bake, but I also love to go mountain bike riding
and hiking with my husband. This past year I had the chance to go
white-water rafting and absolutely loved it! |
