About Our School

Ford Elementary is the newest elementary school in the Georgetown Independent School District, opening in the fall of 2004.  We are proud to be rated as Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency based on our 2007 TAKS scores.  We serve 600 students in grades PK-5.

Ford students live in neighborhoods in the west side of Georgetown along Williams Drive.  For more information about enrolling in our school, please visit the Attendance Zones page or the Registration & Enrollment page on the district web site.  New student registration is held in August, and pre-K and Kindergarten Round-up is held in May.  If you are enrolling after the start of school, you may make an appointment with the campus registrar. To view the campus goals please click here on Ford's Campus Improvement Plan.

Ford Elementary was named in honor of Dr. Jo Ann Ford, an educator who served as principal of Carver, Pickett and Williams Elementary, and Benold Middle School before her retirement from the district in 2000.  She was widely respected for her dedication to children and to the community.  Dr. Ford often visited the children at her namesake school before she passed away in 2006. "The greatest resource that any country can have is its children. My passion and commitment are our children. I envision a community where no child is alone, hurt, hungry, or rejected and where every child is treated with dignity and respect. All children must receive equitable opportunities to a solid public education in order to succeed in life."
Dr. Jo Ann Ford
