Support Services

Content Mastery Content Mastery is a program designed for all students who need academic support outside the regular classroom. Content Mastery is staffed by a certified teacher, Pam Fling and one aide, Brenda Castro, extension 6255.
Counseling Students receive counseling through individual, groups, and classroom guidance. Contact Karen Cavanaugh, Counselor, at extension 5022.
Extended School Enrichment (ESE) Before and after school care is available at all grades for a fee. Students receive tutoring and homework help during ESE. GISD contact is Jan Williams , extension 5087.
Free and Reduced Lunch Program Students who turn is applications and qualify (based on family income and number of people in the home) receive free or reduced lunch and breakfast every school day. Contact Joy Pausewang, extension 5024.
Gifted & Talented (G.T.) Students who need a differentiated education are identified and their academic needs are met in the classroom staffed by certified G.T. teachers. Contact Karen Cavanaugh, Counselor, extension 5022.
Intervention Services Unlimited Intervention Services is a private, social service agency with the counselors on each GISD campuses. Therapists at ISU provide a broad range of health services and referrals for students, families and Frost employees. ISU staff work with clients individually and in groups to address psychological/emotional issues affecting individuals at home, work and school. Literacy Team A group of specially trained teachers who work with the K-2 classroom teachers to support students' literacy development.
Mentor Program Frost participates in a district-wide program which matches students with adults in the community who would like to support and guide students by spending time with them weekly. Contact Karen Cavanaugh, extension 5022.
Physical Health/Wellness The nurse provides: medical care for school personnel and students. Such as vision, hearing, assistance to students needing to access glasses, hearing aids, emergency dental care, and referrals for medical concerns. The nurse distributes medications, with parent consent. The nurse serves as a resource for information about the needs and medical concerns of students.
Student Assistance & Intervention Liason(SAIL) Sail is a Frost program designed to identify and intervene with students who may be experiencing difficulties at home and/or school. SAIL is comprised of the student's teacher and support staff who meet to make recommendations and explore options for the student. Contact Karen Cavanaugh, extension 5022.
Special Education Frost offers a wide range of services addressing academic, behavioral, and physical needs of students whose disabilities qualify them for individualized education plans. Contact Karen Cavanaugh, extension 5022, regarding the referral process for Special Education Department.
