Welcome to my home page! I am a Art teacher at GHS and Richarte.
Education & Teaching Background:
 | Education: Bachelor of Science in
Curriculum and Instruction with a specialization in Art from
Texas State University. I have
certification in Art grades K-12, and approved by the College Board to teach
Advanced Portfolio. |

GISD thirteen years, two years at Benold Middle School and eleven years at GHS. |

This year I will be splitting time between GHS and Richarte. At GHS I will be
teaching ART 1, and ART 2 - Ceramics . Most Richarte Students will be
taking Art 1- those going further can be accommodated
ART1 we will cover:
| The Elements of art and Principles of Design |
| Various types of art and artists |
| A variety of art materials and techniques |
In ART 2-Ceramics students will:
| Use a variety of clay, slips, glazes and experience
simple firing techniques |
| Become competent in hand building and glazing
techniques |
| Use the Potter's Wheel to center, throw, and trim
ceramic pieces |
| Successfully demonstrate understanding and the
integration on the Elements of Art and Principles of Design in working with
form, proportion, and surface |
| Use the language of art to discuss, analyze, and
interpret ceramic work from many cultures and time periods |
| Demonstrate proper loading, firing and unloading of a
kiln |
| Show consistent use of safety practices and clean-up. |
| Develop creative risk-taking skills to produce
original works of art |
