In Intro to Engineering Design (IED) students are introduced to the program Autodesk Inventor and many other basic engineering skills that may be easily applied in a career towards engineering. Students are given projects where they can research, reverse-engineer, and make 3D models of objects such as the can opener to the right.
These projects are mostly self-led, with the instructor tending to give help only when asked. This allows students to learn in an environment that makes them more independent as they may have to be in an engineering career later in life.
