A death in my family threw my schedule off a bit. We begin a family history project this week which includes a new set of vocabulary words. Students will start the week by creating a family three that extends three generations or more. Students will then choose ten members of their family about whom they will write a history of their lives which includes birth (and death) date, place of birth, any distinguishing information, and other items that will be chosen by the students. The final project will consist of a family tree (with pictures and artifacts if the students choose and the 10 written histories. That will be awarded one major grade. A second major grade will be given for the presentation of the information.
Next week, we will also be back in the computer lab to record a speech and dialogue.
