Outreach Programs & Services :: Intervention Services


Georgetown Independent School District provides crisis intervention services to provide immediate emergency intervention for a student who is in crisis or danger to a threat of suicide or homicide, abuse or neglect, abandonment, grief, psychosis, or threat of running away. Services are provided in cooperation with the following community organizations:

Intervention Services Unlimited (ISU)

Intervention Services Unlimited is a private, non-profit social service agency with therapists and counselors on each of the GISD campuses, as well as at other school districts in Central Texas. Therapists from ISU provide a broad range of mental health services and referrals for students, families, and employees. ISU staff work with clients individually and in groups to address psychological/ emotional issues affecting individuals at home, work, and school. Students must receive parental permission to participate.

Bluebonnet Trails Child and Youth Counseling Services

The Bluebonnet Trails organization provides mental health screenings, psychological evaluations, counseling, and prescriptions on a limited basis.

Communities in Schools (CIS)

Communities in Schools is a private social service agency with locations throughout Central Texas. At GHS and NGC, CIS therapists work with students and families individually and in groups to help students learn, stay in school, and prepare for a successful life. Student must receive parental permission to participate.
