Superintendent Lee Withdraws Resignation

Superintendent Joe Dan Lee has withdrawn his resignation and announced he will remain at Georgetown ISD.

In a statement today, Superintendent Lee said: "The support that has been expressed by the community and staff has been extremely humbling. At our April 17 meeting, the GISD Trustees unanimously approved a resolution requesting that I reconsider my resignation. Their support of me is critical for GISD to reach its maximum potential."

"As Superintendent of GISD, my first priority is our students. My second priority is our staff, and my third priority is the Georgetown community. Fulfilling my responsibility to our students requires the support of staff. The support that you have expressed during the past three weeks has been overwhelming. I have told you many times that it is my privilege to work with the greatest staff in the state of Texas; I cannot give that up. I have decided to withdraw my resignation and will remain the Superintendent of GISD."

"I am excited about the future of GISD as we continue to serve our students. Thank you for your encouragement and understanding."
