2006 TEA Accountability Ratings Released
The Texas Education Agency has released the 2006 Accountability Ratings for GISD. Accountability ratings are based on the student performance on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS), which is administered in the spring of each year. The following are the 2006 ratings for our district:

| Village Elementary | Exemplary |
* Because TAKS testing begins in the 3rd grade, the rating for K-2 campuses is based on the rating received by the 3-5 campus to which it is paired.
Note: Richarte High School is rated under the Alternative Education Accountability (AEA) system and received a rating of AEA: Academically Acceptable.
