Pertussis (Whooping Cough) Prevention Information from GISD Health Services
Williamson County continues to experience an increase in cases of pertussis also known as "whooping cough". We are again providing fact sheets to alert families to signs and symptoms of this disease and ways to prevent spread. Your school nurses work to control this disease by assessing and referring ill students to their health care provider. This is one of the diseases we also monitor by requiring immunizations be current to protect the school community. Should there be any questions, please check with your campus nurse.
