NOTES
 | Keep sending in those Box Tops to earn great prizes and to
help raise money to help out the staff and scholars at McCoy! Also, this
month each scholar can win a prize by completing the Box Top sheet from their
PE coaches. We are also collecting the Nestle Water Bottle labels this

WHAT
WE ARE STUDYING
| In Math, we have been using the "Eraser Store" as a model to review place
value, addition, and subtraction, as well as learn more about multiplication,
division, and estimation. This is a very challenging chapter, so we are
spending more time on it. However, I'm excited to see how much the kids
are starting to truly understand the concepts we've been studying! |

| In Social Studies, we've been learning about explorers that made their way
to Texas. We've been learning about their reasons for exploration, the
challenges that come with exploring new places, and also the many successes
and failures the explorers experienced. Currently, we are creating
"Explorer Cards," which give my scholars a chance to choose one explorer that
they wanted to learn more about. They are getting the opportunity to
research more about that explorer and share it with the class in the form of a
card. |
