Principal's Corner Dear McCoy Parents, Students, Staff and Community Members, Welcome to the year that McCoy Elementary is “Going for the Gold”! Our theme this year reflects the high expectations we are setting for our school. Our scholars are like the athletes striving for the Olympic Games in China during the Summer Games 2008. I am thrilled to be a part of the McCoy family now and hope you accept the invitation to be a part of this family too. Being from a military family, I grew up in El Paso next to Ft. Bliss. I graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso. I married my high school sweetheart, and we will celebrate 35 years of marriage in June. We have two children in the Austin area and enjoy living here in Georgetown. I graduated from National-Louis University with a Master in Curriculum and Instruction. I later received a mid-management degree from Mary Hardin Baylor. I was an assistant principal in Killeen before becoming the principal at Pickett Elementary in Georgetown almost 8 years ago. I now have the honor of working with the fine staff at McCoy. I am looking forward to this year and know this is going to be the best year yet! We hope you always feel welcome when you visit our school. Remember—“All Who Enter Here Become One”! Everyone is responsible for our children. Join the team and GO FOR THE GOLD!
