Many opportunities for assistance and growth are available during the year for students, parents, and families. Some are date specific while others are ongoing. S.T.A.R.R.Y. provides numerous support groups and opportunities throughout the year (including summer) for children of various ages and for families. Groups include Anger Management, Girl Power, Why Try?, Starry Adventure Club, Parenting Support Group, Family Forward (family group experience includes anger management, conflict resolution, development, goal setting skills, and communication), Surviving Parenthood, Good Grief (family grief workshop), and others. These meetings are held at different locations including their Round Rock location at 1300 North Mays, the Williamson County Juvenile Justice Center training room at 1821 S. E. Inner Loop, Georgetown, the Central Baptist Church at 301 N. Lake Creek Dr., Round Rock, and others. Call 255-1212 for more information. GISD Community Forum sponsors "First Thursdays" during October, November, December, February, March, and April. All meetings are free and are held at the Georgetown Ninth Grade Center with pizza at 6:15 to 6:45 and educational presentations and networking sessions 6:45 to 8:15 p.m. Child care is provided.
