In this pathfinder, you will learn about some important people who helped shape our country. Hopefully it will spark your curiosity and get you excited about social studies! You will be researching important African-American people in history using biographies in the library, websites and on-line resources. You will follow the steps listed below to eventually create a slide in Power Point about your person.
Note Taking Sheet Steps Day 1: Go to the library where you will draw for a person to research for your project. You will use the book list (see below) to research and find facts about your person.Day 2: Go to the computer lab and continue your research about your person. Find facts and add them to your notes. Day 3: Go to the computer lab to begin your slide in Power Point. Day 4: Complete your slide in the computer lab. Day 5: Present and watch your class slideshow!
Books: You can view a list of the books on this topic that are currently in the library by clicking this link: Library Search First click on the "Resource Lists" tab on the left side of the page. Then click on the "Public Lists" tab at the top to view the Black History list. Other books are available on the tables in the library. These biographies are Reading A to Z books: Garrett Morgan, Bessie Coleman, Martin Luther King, Jr. , Harriet Tubman, Rosa Parks.
