You are about to be rockin' with an upbeat unit all about rocks and minerals! You will learn about sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks while exploring different rocks and minerals. This pathfinder will spark your curiosity and get you excited about science! You will be researching rocks and minerals using books in the library, websites and on-line resources. You will follow the steps listed to eventually create a brochure using Publisher. Steps Introduction - Teachers may want to show the United Streaming video and/or Brain Pop video listed under Online Resources. 1. Go to the library to find out how to access a public list of books using the "library search." 2. Choose one book in the library and use the note taking sheet provided by your teacher to research and take notes about rocks and minerals. 3. Go to the computer lab and access the resources on pathfinder. 4. Using the first two links, complete your research on your note taking sheet about rocks and minerals. 5. Use your information to create your brochure. You must use at least 10 key words in your brochure. Underline the words you use. You will want to save the template in your "My documents" folder.
Books: You can view a list of the books on this topic that are currently in the library by clicking this link: Library Search First click on the "Resource Lists" tab on the left side of the page. Then click on the "Public Lists" tab at the top to view the rocks and minerals list. Other books are available on the tables in the library.
