Welcome to the McCoy Student Council Website!

The purpose of the McCoy Elementary School Student council is to foster leadership while providing a democratic atmosphere in which students, parents, and teachers may share ideas, needs and opinions.

The Student Council is comprised of one member from each 4th and 5th grade homeroom class.

All Student Council Representatives must meet the following criteria:

  -No grade average below an 80 for a 9-week grading period

  -No conduct grade below an “S”

  -Good attendance, including being on time to school

bullet

Student Council will meet every 1st and 3rd Friday between 2:30-3:00 in room 47, to discuss service projects, fundraisers, and activities.  Student Council members will also engage in leadership and teambuilding activities.

The Student Council President will be a 5th grader elected by the student body.  An assembly will be held during which candidates will give a short, prepared speech, no longer than 2 minutes.

The student body will elect the offices of Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Parliamentarian, and Historian.  A 4th or 5th grade representative may fill any of these positions.
