Policies and Procedures

Please note: Tests, Projects, and Final Writing Assignments count as 75% of a student's grade. Daily work counts as 25%.

  • Policy for Late Daily Work

It is district policy that work may be accepted late one calendar day for a 10 point deduction and one class day for a twenty point deduction.  NO LATE WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THE NEXT CLASS DAY.  Students are allowed TWO (2) late work assignments. After the two, no late work will be accepted from that student.

Please understand, this is district policy and not my philosophy.  In my opinion, late work is unacceptable; therefore, please make an effort not to abuse this policy.

  • The student must have their English notebook, pens, pencils, and paper with them for each class. The teacher does not provide supplies.
  • Make-up work/tests are your responsibility. You will not be reminded that assignments are due.
  • The GISD Student Code of Conduct must be followed.
  • Tutorials are from 8:15 - 8:45
