Parents: Students need a 1 1/2" or 2" binder, dividers(5), a spiral notebook- preferably a sturdy on that will last a couple of years, loose leaf paper, red pen for grading, pencil and blue or black pen. Parents and students: Before a test or quiz students should go to www.phschool.com and type in the web code jce-0002. Click on Home page and go to the chapter that we are studying. There are listening activities and test preparation questions for each chapter. This would really help any student that is needing extra help or wants to improve their comprehension and pronunciation. I have other links on my links page for pronunciation also. Students have homework every night. They can be studying their vocabulary and doing the assigned homework. Please keep in mind that these plans may change on a daily basis depending on class size and rate at which students finish assignments. I will try to update as the week progresses. el 18 de febrero- el 11 de marzo Thursday / Friday 2/18-19/2010 1. Calentamiento 2. Finish 3B Test 3. Students will make flashcards using the clothing words found on pgs. 342 and 370 in their book. Students must come by to get the flashcards. 4. Students are making a doll to practice clothing . They have to come by class to get the pattern and cut out the doll. Instructions are below. 5. Sing "La Bamba". Monday / Tuesday 2/22-23/2010 1. Notes and discussion on "Preguntas" #19 and "La Ropa" (Clothing)#20. #20 notes come from pg.342 el abrigo to los zapatos and pg.370 el anillo to el reloj pulsera. 2. Study Clothing Flashcards!!!!! 3. Finish the "Muñeca". Wednesday / Thursday 2/24-25/2010 1. Pass back 3B tests and go over them. 2. Go over the new vocabulary words for Chapter 4A pgs. 172-173. Copy notes from pg 194. #21 Los Lugares - Places. Copy from la biblioteca-el trabajo and translate. Add - la lección de piano. Finish working on the paper doll with clothing. A day - yours is due Tuesday and B day - yours is due Monday. 3. Homework - Workbook pgs. 67-68. Friday / Monday 2/26-3/1, 2010 1. Read the conversations on pages 172-173. Copy the notes attached in the correct places in your spiral. 2. B day- your paper dolls are due today!!! 3. Read pgs. 180 on the verb IR and pg. 184 on the interrogative (question) words. 4. Homework: study your notes #19 on clothing and #21 on places. Do workbook pages 69 and 121. "cuesta" means "costs" (singular subject) and "cuestan" means "cost" (plural subject). Numbers are #4 notes. If you are not sure how to do pg. 69 you must come in for tutorials. It will only take a few minutes for me to explain. You will not put "ves" in every blank. You need to look at the picture and use the "tú" form of the verb. Tuesday / Wednesday 3/2-3/2010 1. Notes to finish up vocab from chapter 4A. 2. Slide show using Dora and Diego for vocabulary practice. 3. Calentamiento. Do this calentamiento using your muñeca (paper doll) to answer the questions. Be sure to include colors when writing what your doll is wearing. Remember: los pantalones azules......... la camisa roja......Colors are adjectives and they must agree with what they are describing. If you have questions come in to see me for tutorials. 4. Read pgs. 174-175 in the book since you missed the video today. 5. Read pg. 178 in the book. Remember: el martes = on Tuesday, los martes = on Tuesdays. Read over Actividad 8 p. 178 and think about answers for each question. 6. Do PWB p. 70 for homework. Conjugate the verbs for Tito!!!! 7. Vocabulary quiz next class period. Study NOTES #12verbos, #12 IR, #17 preposiciones, #19 Preguntas, #20 La Ropa, and #21 Lugares. Also study pg. 194 in the book. Thursday 3/4/2010 1. Grade PWB 69-70 and 121. 2. Finish the Calentamiento from last class period. D 3. Do the Conversation Line using the calentamiento and the Muñeca. 4. Do Actividad 4 p.176 and 7 p.178. 5. Homework: PWB 71, 72, 74, 75. 6. Vocabulary quiz from chapter 4A p. 194. 7. Students MUST have their notes with them next class period because they can use them to write their paragraphs for a test grade. Friday 3/5/2010 1. Grade PWB 69-70 and 121. 2. Calentamiento talking about the students Muñeca. 3. Homework: PWB 71, 72, 74, 75. 4. Vocabulary quiz for chapter 4A is next class period. Study pg. 194 in the book. Also study #9, #12, #13, #19, #20, and #21 notes. 5. Students must have their notes with them next class period so that they can use them to write their paragraphs which is for a test grade. Monday / Tuesday 3/8-9/2010 Grade PWB pgs. 71-72 and 74-75. Sing the Ir and question words songs. B day will be taking their chapter 4A vocabulary quiz. See above Friday above about what to study. Make sure if you've been absent that you have all the notes copied from February 26-March 3. Students will be writing paragraphs describing their Muñeca today. It will be for a test grade but they will be able to use their notes. They must have their notes with them or it will take a very long time if they have to flip through the book and they might not finish in class. They can not take this home for homework so they will have to come in for tutorials if they do not finish. Plenty of time is being allotted for this project if they come prepared.
