Education & Teaching Background:
 | I received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. My graduate work consists of studies through the
Teacher's Academy at the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture
(University of Dallas) and The Athena Foundation: Mentors for Excellence in
Teaching. |
 | I have been teaching for twelve years in Georgetown, four at Tippit
Middle School, and eight at the 9th Grade Campus. |
 | My teaching experience includes elementary through high school over
the past 19 years. |

 | Writing and Grammar: Students will be writing essays and studying basic
principles of grammar. |
Components of English I and English I Pre-AP
 | Handwriting: Students should be able to
write fluently in order to take notes. |
 | Spelling: Spelling and punctuation are very
important for students' success with essay writing. |
 | Grammar: Parts of speech, phrases, clauses,
and sentence structure are crucial to writing and the study of foreign
language. |
 | Composition: Students' ability to express
themselves through writing is necessary to success in college, and in life. |
 | Vocabulary: The study of SAT vocabulary
improves students' verbal scores on the SAT exam. |
 | Literature: The close study of literature
helps students with the Advanced Placement exam later in high school. |
