Overview

Through partnerships with several community organizations and with the assistance of dedicated volunteers and teachers, Georgetown Independent School District offers many mentoring & tutoring opportunities for students who need additional assistance.  Contact Jan Liepman at ext. 5052 for more information.

Project Mentor

Project Mentor, a program of Georgetown Partners in Education, pairs students with an individual volunteer mentor to offer on-going guidance for their academic and personal growth. Mentors meet with their students on a weekly basis on the school campus. The program is open to all students in grades K-12, and more information may be obtained from the campus guidance counselor, or by contacting Georgetown Partners in Education.

Peer Assistance and Leadership Program (PALS)

Students in PALS participate in a class that helps them to develop skills needed to serve as peer counselors at the high school level and as mentor to 5th graders at district elementary schools. For more information, contact PALS at the high school at 943-5100.
