• GISD Learner Profile
The development of the GISD Leaner Profile began with four community-wide education summits where the district held facilitated discussions about the future of education and recorded the feedback and input provided by the participants. The summits were followed by an online survey that was available from February 23-March 2 where we asked the community to prioritize the responses we received from our summits. The district then hosted approximately 15 focus groups representing parents, students, teachers, principals, district staff, community leaders, and business members to gather additional input.
In the final phase of this process, a design team made up of 45 internal and external stakeholders reviewed the data collected from the summits, forums, and online survey to develop our Georgetown ISD Learner Profile. As a result of this process, the district will develop specific actions and measurable goals to develop a custom design for instruction.

    Education Summits:
Georgetown ISD will host a series of education summits to gather input from parents, students, teachers, business leaders, and community members to determine the desired skills and characteristics of a Georgetown graduate. We want to better prepare our students for the future, and we need your input to make that happen.
The board adopted its strategic plan in June 2014 to build awareness of 21st century demands and create a shared vision, mission and core values for the district. The strategic plan charged the district with redesigning the learning model to include customization and innovation at every level. In an effort to fulfill our vision to be home of the most inspired students, served by the most empowered leaders, you are encouraged to participate in one of our upcoming education summits designed to facilitate a conversation about the learning needs of our students.
February 12– 10-11:30 a.m., Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park, 445 E. Morrow St.
February 12– 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., Georgetown Community Center in San Gabriel Park, 445 E. Morrow St.
    February 19–  6 p.m.-7:30 p.m., East View High School cafeteria, 4490 E. University Avenue
Now that the education summits have concluded, Georgetown ISD is now asking every member of our community to complete the following online survey. The survey is intended to gather additional input from parents, students, community members, partners, business owners, and civic leaders to help create the profile of a GISD learner. The answer options in the survey were derived from patterns of input shared at the recent education summits conducted on February 12 and February 19. A strategic design team comprised of internal and external stakeholders will review all of the data collected from the summits, forums, and the online survey to develop our Georgetown learner/graduate profile. Your feedback is a critical step in this process. Thank you for participating in this short 7-question survey.
The survey is open from February 23-March 2.
