In 2013, the Texas House of Representatives passed HB 897 which requires school districts to provide CPR instruction to students in grades 7 through 12 at least one time prior to graduation. GISD elects to provide this instruction to high school seniors, and includes selected juniors in the training each year. "On Broadway" is a revue comprised of five professional Broadway performers, backed by a live stage band. The performances will include hit songs from major Broadway productions performed by talent who have been cast in Broadway and off-Broadway roles. Five students from East View and Georgetown High Schools will perform along with the Broadway actors, and the varsity choirs of both EVHS and GHS will also be featured. The district has been monitoring weather and roads all night. Buses are running routes on time and all schools will open and operate as normally scheduled. Student and staff safety is top priority, so please leave early and drive safely as you normally would under wet road conditions.
