My name is Ms. Eileen Gurski, and I am an
eighth grade mathematics teacher at Tippit Middle School.
Education & Teaching Background:
- I went to Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY for my Bachelor's
degree in Mathematics, and graduated in 1997. In 2004, I graduated with
my Master's degree from the State University of New York at Stonybrook .
- This is my eleventh year teaching, and this is my
second year at Tippit
Middle School and Georgetown ISD. I've taught for two years in Arizona
and seven in New York.
- I've had the opportunity to work at Brookhaven
National Laboratory in Upton, NY where I worked with a physicist.
There I learned her physics experiment, and pulled out the relevant
mathematics. From that, I created mathematics teaching units that
integrated science and technology, and presented my findings to the
laboratory community.
