Monday, March 8, 2009:

2/3 Block: Pre-Ap


1. Students will do a warm up out of their TAKS preparation workbook. This workbook is kept in the colored baskets on the table.These warm ups are to help students prepare for the upcoming TAKS tests. Today's warm up is on page 10. After students are finished, please go over the answers with them. I will have the teacher’s workbook for you to use.  

2. Students will make their Sea Log for our new novel, Treasure Island. After each chapter they read, students will write a summary in these Sea Logs.

3. Students are to work on their Search for the Shadowman essay questions. The final packet is due on Monday, March 23rd.

*Students will be able to choose which questions they would like to answer based on their interests. With their choices, they have the options to take the thinking to a higher level.

4. We will be doing a context clues activity. They will have an assessment over this on Friday.


HOMEWORK: Work on essay questions.

 

5/7 & 8/9 Block: Core

This workbook is kept in the colored baskets on the table.These warm ups are to help students prepare for the upcoming TAKS tests. Today's warm up is on page 15/16. After students are finished, please go over the answers with them. I will have the teacher’s workbook for you to use.  

2. Students are to read Ch. 4 in the novel, Treasure Island. Then, they are to summarize the chapter in their sea logs, which they have.

3. Students are to work on their Search for the Shadowman essay questions. What they do not finish in class will need to be done over spring break.

2. Students will be taking a test over summarization, sequencing, and context clues.

3. Students will read chapter 14 in their novels, and taking a quiz over chapters 11-14. When finished, students are to summarize the chapter on a separate sheet of paper. Afterwards, they are to work on their essay questions from their packet.
