Welcome to my home page!
I am the Dyslexia Specialist and Reading Specialist at Tippit Middle School.
I teach ACCELL reading classes and Dyslexia.
Education & Teaching Background:
- I received a Bachelor of
Arts degree from Southwestern University (Georgetown, TX) in English with
history as my second teaching field.
- I received a Master's in
Education from Southwest Texas State University (San Marcos, TX) in Reading.
- I am a Reading Specialist, and I am
certified to teach English (6-12), History (6-12), and Language Arts (6-12).
- I have been trained by
Scottish Rite Learning Center of Austin in the BLS program, and I have been
trained by the Neuhaus center in Houston in MRS. I am
currently in the process of becoming a Certified Academic Language Therapist.

The ACCELL reading
classes will be building skills in:
- Reading Decoding/Fluency - using the
REWARDS program
- Reading Comprehension - using the
STOP TO THINK program
- Writing skills
All Dyslexic groups will be
following either the Basic Language Skills program (BLS) or the Multisensory
Reading and Spelling program (MRS).
