Monday:

1) Vocabulary- Review and discuss list of words with the Latin stem sub.  Students will begin working on their “Word Study Activities” for the week. 

2) Hero’s Journey- Students will view the movie “Star Wars” and take notes on elements that correspond with the archetype.

Tuesday:

1) Vocabulary- Work on activities for this week’s word list using the stem sub.

2) Hero’s Journey- Students will view the movie “Star Wars” and take notes on elements that correspond with the archetype.

Wednesday:

1) Vocabulary- TSW work on activities for this week’s word list using the stem sub.

2) Presentation of Utopia projects

3) Independent Reading- Students will choose and begin reading books that contain a hero’s journey.  As they read each day they will chart information about the three parts of the hero’s journey. ( separation, initiation and return)

Thursday:

1) Reading- Students will visit the library to choose a book to read

2) Grammar- View ppt over adverbs and add a page to parts of speech flip book in writer’s journal.

3) Independent Reading of hero’s journey

Friday:

1) Vocabulary quiz over words with the stem sub.

2) Grammar- Review prepositions and add a page to parts of speech flip book in writer’s journal.  Students will use prepositional phrases to create a treasure map.
