Classroom Expectations Welcome to the 8th Grade! I'm excited to have you in my class. In order for this year to be both fun and productive, you will be required to follow certain rules and procedures. You will be expected to: 1. Be on time, in your assigned seat, ready to work when the tardy bell rings. You are tardy if you are not in your seat silently working on the daily warm up when class begins. 2. Be prepared, have all required supplies, texts and completed work in the classroom (not your locker) and be willing to contribute to class discussions. 3. Be accountable, know school and class rules and procedures. 4. Complete and turn in all assignments at the beginning of class on the day they are due. All assignments must have a full heading. 5. Copy daily agenda and warm-up. First write down the daily agenda in your planner being sure to indicate due dates; next, begin the warm up in your designated spiral. 6. No speaking out of turn. Raise your hand and wait to be recognized. Do not speak during instruction, when another student has the floor or during announcements. 7. Keep a notebook and grade sheet, Organize a binder with two dividers, one for daily assignments, one for Tests and Projects; keep all assignments in order according to the dates on your heading; record you grades on your grade sheet when papers are returned to you. 8. Treat others with respect. Do not make fun of other students or staff members. You should also have respect for your school and community. This means you should keep the hall ways, my classroom and materials neat and tidy. Consequences
* Offenses need not be of the same nature to begin the steps procedure. |
