Welcome to Texas History!

 Hello, I am Diane Harrison, and this  year we will be studying the history of Texas from early times to the present.  Students will examine the full scope of Texas history, including the cultures of Native Americans living in Texas prior to European exploration, the eras of mission-building, colonization, revolution, republic, statehood and the emergence from an agricultural to industrial society.  The focus in each area will be on key individuals, events, issues, and their impact. Throughout the year students will continue to build on their fundamental skills of reading comprehension, critical listening skills, group interaction skills, and active learning techniques.  Students will also further develop their task management strategies, technological skills, note-taking skills, and researching skills.  Various activities and strategies will be used to reinforce and build upon each students style of learning and content of knowledge.  Below is contact information, tutorial times, and class overview.  Be aware that the weekly lessons may adjust somewhat due to changes or needs within the classroom and/or the school's schedule for the day or week.

Tutorial Times:  Before school will be 8:15-8:35

                                        After school will be 4:00-4:20

If any student needs additional tutoring,  make arrangements with me so that we can make sure that they  receive the needed help.
