This year we will be working on: Writing- We will be writing, writing, writing! The writing TAKS test is new to our 4th graders so we will truly concentrate on become better writers by using the entire writing process as well as 6+1 writing traits. Your child will have many experiences and practice writing samples throughout the year to prepare for the TAKS as well as making writing meaningful in everyday situations. Reading- This year we will be reading a variety of texts and your child will become a natural reader who will have many opportunities to read. Your child will also have to continue their reading program at Village to read 80 minutes a week to meet the expectations. Spelling- We will have weekly spelling tests so please have your child study nightly to keep their spelling skills strong. |
