Parents,

Every year the GISD GT Program sponsors a math contest for 4th-6th grade GT Math students.  It is call Math Olympiad and consists of 5 contests held once a month from Nov-March.  It is basically a timed test of 5 SLIP-like problems and the students receive 1 point for each question with a total of 25 points at the end of the year.  Students are then ranked by grade level throughout the district and trophies, medal, patches, pins and certificates are given depending on their placement.  Our first contest will be this week.  You should see it come home in the Monday Folder next Monday.  Here is the website for more information if you are interested.  http://moems.org/  Thanks
