I DARE
YOU
by Toody Byrd
I DARE
YOU to take up for the little kid the bullies are picking on.
I DARE
YOU to be curious like you were when you were a little kid.
Curiosity is just intelligence having fun.
I DARE
YOU to truly believe learning is having fun.
I DARE
YOU to stand up for what you know is right. If you don't stand for
something, you'll fall for anything.
I DARE
YOU to be nice to the new kid, eat lunch with him.
I DARE
YOU to be at least half as nice to your parents and teachers as you are
to your friends.
I DARE
YOU to look around home and school for heroes, not just on TV.
I DARE
YOU to know you are an OK person even when you don't make the team.
I DARE
YOU to know you don't always have to be first.
I DARE
YOU to learn how to think, not just what to think.
I DARE
YOU to finish your homework, even though your friend wants to talk on
the phone.
I DOUBLE
DOG DARE YOU to say "NO" drugs and unkindness, not because we
tell you to, but because you feel good about yourself as you are and
don't need drugs to make you someone else. You don't have to step
on other people to make yourself taller.
