Texas Day Carnival

Friday, April 11 5-9 pm

You will not want to miss this fun, family evening including BBQ dinner, a dance, games, a baking contest, and a bike decorating contest and parade.

Do the Funky Chicken

Bring your change, or paper money and put it in the teacher’s milk jug that you would like to see dress up in a chicken costume and do the “Funky Chicken” on the Village stage.  The teacher with the most money in their jug will do the Funky Chicken.  Join in the fun!  Deadline to bring in your money is Thursday, April 10th at 8:45 am.  Top 3 will be announced Friday morning on the announcements...Stay tuned.

Carnival Tickets

Avoid the ticket line at the carnival and pre-order your tickets!  They are on sale everyday in the office, or send in your order form and tickets will be sent home with your child.

Teacher Prize Drawing

Each Village teacher has offered something special to the students...from a teacher vs student basketball game to an opportunity to be the Principal for a day.  Students take a chance at winning that special something by writing their name on the back of a carnival ticket and placing it in the teacher’s bucket of their choice.  Take as many chances as you want.  Your child just might be the lucky winner of the drawing on Monday.

Food and Dance

Don’t miss a down home Texas style dinner...order your BBQ dinner tickets now.  Dinner will be served from 5-7 pm.  Tickets are on sale now for $8 a plate.  A plate includes:  a chopped beef sandwich and all the fixings.  Dance the night away to the music of a professional DJ playing Texas music to enjoy.  What a Night!

Volunteers

This family event could not happen without the help of our wonderful volunteers.  Please mark your calendars, and start thinking of the time you can help make this the best carnival yet!  We cannot do it without your donation of time.  Call Stacy Glenn at 943-5140.

Texas Style Bike Decorating Contest and Parade

Start your Texas-Style decorating today!  Every student is invited to decorate their bikes, scooters, wagons, etc. in a Texas fashion.  Medals will be awarded to the best decorated non-motorized vehicle.  Judging will be done during the carnival.  Right after winners are announced, all students who decorated their non-motorized vehicle will join the Showcase Parade.  More details to come.
